Bring your own packed lunch in from home? Here are a few polite reminders.
π₯As a nut-free school, we kindly ask all families to ensure that packed lunches and snacks do not contain nuts or products containing nuts. This includes items such as peanut butter, Nutella, cereal bars containing nuts, and other nut-based snacks.
π₯€No fizzy drinks or energy drinks are allowed.
π€Children can not share their food. Any food they do not want needs to go back in their lunch box.

Our Meet the Teacher sessions are a great opportunity to:
β Visit your child's new classroom
β Meet their teacher(s)
β Learn about the curriculum and key learning for the year ahead
β Ask any questions you may have
Sessions will take place in children's classrooms at the end of the school day from 3.15-3.45 on the dates below:

It maybe the time that you are thinking about letting your child walk home independently. If so you need to complete a form using a link which willl be sent in an email later this week. For many children in Years 5 and 6, walking home from school independently is an exciting milestone. It helps to build confidence, responsibility, and independence.
Here are our top tips to make sure they feel prepared and safe.
β Practise the route together Walk the journey several times with your child so they know the safest route and can identify safe places to go if they need help.
β Talk about road safety Remind children to:
Stop, look, listen, and think before crossing.
Use designated crossing points where possible.
Avoid distractions such as mobile phones or headphones near roads.
β Set clear expectations Discuss:
The route they should take.
What time they should arrive home.
Whether they can stop to see friends or visit shops.
β Have an emergency plan Make sure your child knows:
Important phone numbers.
Their home address.
Who they can contact if they feel worried or unsafe.
β Stranger awareness Remind children never to go anywhere with someone they don't know, even if that person appears friendly or claims to know the family.
β Stay aware of their surroundings Encourage children to walk confidently, stay alert, and avoid becoming distracted by their phone or other devices.
β Build confidence gradually Some families choose to let children walk part of the route independently at first before progressing to the whole journey.
Remember
Every child develops independence at their own pace. Having regular conversations about safety, responsibility, and making sensible choices will help ensure they feel confident and prepared for this exciting step.
